Jonna
Pohjalainen worked this summer at the Environmental Art workshop
of the Open Air Art Museum in Pedvale.
This fine documentation of her work "Colour Pencils" shows
us how the work is connected with its surroundings and
how it changes during different weather conditions and times of
the day.
Without
sun there are no colours and life!

the Letter of Jonna Pohjalainen
"I
travelled to work in Pedvale with empty hands. I admired the lovely
rural scene and the sunsets of Pedvale. I used local aspen in my
work because of its lively forms and beautiful, grey colour. While
you sharpen your pencils you can see time passing by. Colours bring
joy and happiness in our everyday life. I chose a place of of my
work because of the sunsets. You can sit and meditate near my work
and look at the sunsets. Without sun there are no colours and life!"
Jonna
Pohjalainen osallistui Pedvalen ympäristötaideworkshoppiin
ja -
näyttelyyn. Kuvasarja tuo hienosti esiin sen, miten teos elää
ympäristön, sään ja vuorokauden aikojen mukaan
saaden lopullisen merkityksensä auringonkierron kanssa.
Ilman
aurinkoa ei ole värejä, eikä elämää!

"Lähdin
tyhjin käsin Pedvaleen. Ihastuin välittömästi
Pedvalen maalaismaisemaan ja auringonlaskuihin. Käytin paikallista
haapaa puun eläväisten
muotojen ja kauniin, harmaan sävyn vuoksi. Terottaessasi kynää
näet ajan kuluvan. Värit tuovat iloa ja onnellisuutta
arkeemme. Teoksen paikan valitsin auringonlaskujen vuoksi. ”Colour
Pencils” -teoksen äärellä voit mietiskellä
ja ihastella auringonlaskuja. Ilman aurinkoa ei ole värejä,
eikä elämää!"
